Recording Producer
When I was just 16 years old, I built my first small analogue studio in a friend’s garage and have been enthusiastically recording music ever since. In 1989 I opened the “Tonstudio Vagnsson” in Hanover and operated it as a production studio until 2004 – the last 4 years in Hamburg. I recorded an incredible number of over 600 productions in the studio, including around 50 that were released on my own label, Cordaria. The musical diversity was great, all types of jazz and classical music to the avant-garde, from soloists to big bands and orchestras. From 2004 I worked very intensively in the recording studio “Fattoria Musica” in Osnabrück. I have supervised some large projects as a sound engineer, including recording and live mixing at the FMP festival “Total Music Meeting” in Berlin for 6 years in a row, around 10 CD productions with the “Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra” in Bangkok, as well as the Armenian Mega-Project “Kohar Orchestra” on tours to Russia, Syria, Armenia, Lebanon and South America and the subsequent post productions. I have been working as a freelance sound engineer for the NDR Big Band in Hamburg for several years. Large labels such as Naxos, Enja, Act, Warner, Nabel Records, Traumton Records, NRW, Jazzhouse Music, Shamrock, Zyx-Music, Laika Records, Jazz4ever were directly or indirectly among my studio customers.
